Harp music for funerals
Harp music is very suitable for funerals, memorial services and commemorations.
In the crematorium, chapel or church
I arrive in good time to be ready for when the entrance doors open. Before the funeral service begins, there is only a short time for me to wheel my harp to the front of chapel and set up as directed, on the left or right.
As the congregation assembles, I begin playing and conclude with the piece chosen for the procession of the family and/or coffin into the chapel. If requested, I can play music to accompany a slide show during the ceremony. Finally, I play chosen pieces as the coffin recesses and the congregation departs.
If preferred, I can wear long, coloured silk instead of black. Please see my dresses to make your selection.
For outdoor funerals
I am happy to play my harp outside, but unfortunately am not able to when it is cold, windy, or wet.
For the wake
I play a mixture of tunes suited to the occasion. I can use a compact sound system so that I can be heard if the venue is crowded.
Choosing music for the funeral
Please pick titles from my repertoire – there are hymns on this page, as well as non-religious music.
